Some help required from the great keepers of the Timber Knowledge.......
I have a Cavity brick house , the windows do not have reveals so the internal surrounds of the windows are brick except for the bottom window sill that is Meranti with a Western Red Cedar stain as seen below

I may have to install a frame around the rest of the internal sections of the window and cover those brick sides and have been told that Meranti is now harder to source so here's the question.....
What other species of timber would give a similar look to the Meranti when stained.........Tassie Oak?......Pine is no good due to grain differecne
