Time for another project!
I've decided that my mitre saw and thicknesser need new homes. The mitre saw is on a simple ply base but it's been permanently mounted in my Triton Superjaws which I want back. The thicknesser sits on the floor under my Paulk workbench and is getting heavier every time I have to lift it up to the benchtop.
I found a neat design with a flip top that will allow me to mount both tools on a single stand. Construction looks straight forward enough, mostly 18mm ply with some 70x20 framing.
A quick stock take revealed a couple of sheets of 18mm formply and a few 90x45 studs which I can rip down to the 70x20 size required.
Due to the height of the thicknesser, the middle support/shelf will have to go so I'll have to design some sort of reinforcing to provide support for the two walls.
Mitre saw is an Ozito, thicknesser is a Ryobi 315mm.
