Late last year I had the misfortune to have to undergo major heart surgery.
A tricky job that one surgeon would not attempt however my cardioligist searched around and found a surgeon that was prepared to have a shot.
Without intervention I was a shot duck so we decided to give it a go.
And thankfully after a six hour operation all is well again.
The surgeon explained later that he had to disconnect a few extra bits and rotate the heart inside the chest cavity to enable the required repairs.
Anyhow, back on the tools and looking for a little thank you gift I came up with this.
When you look closely at the pic of the open box you can see a small crack own at the pointy end.
This crack appeared a few weeks ago before finishing and has not gotten any worse.
Should I do anything with it, will it likely spread?
I did not have a block of timber thick enough for a bandsawn box so I sections some bits out of the block pictured, two thin ones for top and bottom, one 45mm thick for the guts.
Drilled two 50mm holes in the thick bit and then jigsawed the rest.
