I promised I'd do a Budgeroo pen for the holidays ... .. Sorry about the pic doesn't show the grain and sheen real well ... This is end grain and is really interesting ... Machining and finishing is easy but need to be careful to have sharp chisels .. The pieces I have have small hairline cracks which can sometimes make em explode on the lathe .. I protected against this by soaking some thin super glue into the blank ... Might be other tricks I'm not aware of.
