My old Stanley screw driver set is over 30 years old and starting to show its experience.
The plump gentleman brought me a new set. On first appearances the plastic case was not as well molded as the old case and the scewdrivers seemed rather roughly finished. But the price was very competitive!
First used them this morning to tackle a stubborn screw. Within two seconds the silver plating - nickel or chrome ? - lifted from the bottom 3 mm of the blade. Then, within ten seconds, the blade twisted. Tried another screwdriver on another screw - exactly the same result.
The elderly screwdrivers did not strain to undo either screw!
Returned new set to BigChain who cheerfully refunded the price. Checkout chap summed it up: "Sh*t, they're crap." Or just Not Fit for Purpose.
