I picked up a large G clamp at the sunday trash n treasure. Nice big solider Australian made thing. Gave the thread a good wire wheeling and a coating of Lanotec. I always store them screwed closed to my surprise this one finishes about 2" short of fully closed.
For something really big it probably makes no difference but if you were just going for depth of throat it would be come a limitation.
Not come across this before and was curious if it is common or nit?
