Taking out the slack in a mitre gauge slide.

mercredi 12 novembre 2014

I recently purchased an Ozito table saw which certainly does the job for a hobbyist.

I found the saw angles accurate and the fencing guides spot on. However the mitre gauge slide was quite slack as you my find in a cheap saw. So this is how I solved the problem.

I drilled a hole thru the sides of the slide. One at the front and one at the rear and threaded a length of thick wipper snipper cord thru the holes. You can cut them off almost flush. The small protrusion will take up the slack in the slide.
