Started on the restoration of the benches waldown. Still haven't seen another exactly the same to go off but did find what looks like it in a McPhersons book.
Cleaned most of the grease and dirt off the paint. Pulled the major components off the pillar.
Following on someone else's thread I started with kerosene & 180 grit and worked up to 280 followed by some wax and a rub down.
Wasn't able to get all the pitting out some us just too deep & there are a few dingo. I stupid the highs off first, but the lows are still there unfortunately. They also stand out more now.
