Rocking horse for my toddler

dimanche 16 novembre 2014

I've found http://ift.tt/1qM22ir to be a great and decent priced site for toy plans.

I've got a few of their plans, but the first one I have finished is the small rocking horse. Its all radiata, with the thin pieces stained with Cabot's red cedar.

The little guy seems to like it which made it all very worthwhile, and there is plenty of room for him to grow into it.

Oh, at the Canberra wood show I bought an Ox hair brush from Henry Eckert while the wife was out of ear shot (if you've seen the price of Gramercy brushes you'll know what I mean). I'd wanted one ever since seeing U-Beaut's finishing demo at the Sydney show about 3 years ago. It was used to apply the clear Poly, and what a treat it is - zero brush marks and such a smooth consistent finish. I've never had any brush finish come anywhere near as close - it will be great to use it on a 'finer' project. I've got the 3" brush and it must nearly hold the whole 500ml tin in its bristles!

Cheers,

Nathan.
