Looking over a pile of western red cedar shake blocks, I realized that one might have a dish in it.
Possibly with far less Pacific Northwest design influence than usual.
All 60cm tall, it's the old brown one (11kg) on the right. The two other fresh 18kg shake blocks
are -20C from outside the door and will take 3 days to thaw out.
The block needs to be faced to check for clarity and take off all the moss & dirt.
With the log mallet & froe, I will split off maybe 8mm.
Then saw off 10cm each end which gets rid of most of the cracks, most of the time.
