Semi retained wall - Only a sleeper high - some questions

mercredi 8 octobre 2014

Was hoping I could get some advice from experienced renovators.

I have some areas of the yard which has retained areas....200mm high. Currently they are old railway sleepers and will like to replace them with treated pine.

Im thinking of using the Retain-IT posts and would like some advice on the following:

  1. With the retained wall height very low does it matter if I use a 50mm thick sleeper as opposed to 75mm

  2. Once again with the height very low can I just put posts at say 1.5m-2 apart as opposed to 1.2m? I have sections in the back yard where one section will only be about at most 5m long. So I was thinking having sleepers that are 1.5m;1.5m;2m.

  3. When putting in the Retain-it posts should I still put in gravel underneath it?

Any advice would help as a lot of the stuff im reading are for walls for 600mm and up.

Thanks in advance
