VIC 4-speed Bandsaw (Toolmac)

dimanche 3 janvier 2016

This Toolmac bandy has been tweaked out a little with Carbatec deluxe bearing guides, a much better home-made "gravity" motor mount and home-made mobile base (4 castors/2 locking).

The motor and pulley system allows for 4 different speeds but I've only ever used it on "flat-out".

The guide post had to be modified to fit the guides and so the maximum height for cutting is down a bit to approx 132mm.

The original blade tensioner was impossible to use by hand and has been replaced with a simple bolt that I use a socket wrench on to adjust. A longer bolt that rises above the casing could have a knob attached to make it a little more user-friendly if you wanted.

There is a total of 8 blades in various states from 1/4" to (I'm guessing) 1/2" with different TPIs. (inc. 1 unopened 1/4" 6tpi).

It has been a great saw and I've put a fair bit of effort into getting it to run a lot better than the earthquake it was when I got it. I'm only selling because of dire financial strife and it's the machine that sees the least use in my shop so it's at the top of the "recovery" list :(

Asking for $225 OBO.

I'd be happy to meet Melbourne/Geelong (or similar) travelers half-way to ease the pick up, or you can come visit sunny *cough* Ballarat for a day and grab it :)
