I want to use the Incra system on my mitre saw bench but can't justify the price for a full length fence as it works out to about $600. I looked at the telescoping fence as an alternative but from what I can gleen on the net and PWS are not open at the moment. My question concerns the telescoping part, it appears to slide without any positive stops and if that is the case then that negates the whole concept if the telescoping stop is in use. Have I got this right?
My other alternative is adapt a Wixey to the saw which I think can be easily done and use a leading spacer to bridge the gap between the start of the Wixey and the blade to set the Wixey to zero. I have had a Wixey on my TS since they came out and find it very repeatable but I think the Incra is better but maybe not worth the trouble. Comments and ideas gladly received.
