I'm wanting to make what's essentially a serving plate that is 400mm diameter (9-12mm thick) out of nice wood. I really like the look of Jarrah but can be swayed to any other dark wood.
Because of the size, I tried looking for Jarrah sheets, but could only find veneered Jarrah-plywood, which I presume would make the edges of the plate not look so good. Is there any source of Jarrah sheets in Perth?
(FYI, I do not have a thicknesser and my bandsaw isn't tuned that well, so I can't glue and make my own)
