Setting up Radial Arm Saw Fence

Hi everyone I was wondering if there is a guide or a formula to locating the rip fence.I have the Australian assembled 1512 with a 12 inch blade.

I think it should have a cutting depth of over 4 inches. How do I install a fence that ensures maximum depth and width of cut.
