Milled my first log today

Milled my first log today. Cut the Cypress tree down and hauled the 2 logs to my mill yesterday. 2 Cypress pine logs - 1 about 650-700 mm just over 7 metres and the other was 400mm and 2.7 long. Set up the Lucas mill and then went to start it and click. Dead battery. Pulled the kids buggy battery out and put it in the mill (heaps smaller!!) and woohoo off I go. I started with the smaller log to start off easy and decided on cutting 2x1's for some trim timber I need and all went well. Stopped the machine and had some lunch,came back and click, so out came the quad bike battery (heaps bigger), in it went into the mill along with a longer earth lead and a few zip ties and woohoo off I go. Finished the smaller log, set up the mill over the bigger log and off I went. I am cladding a shed with 6x1's which is 5.4 high and over the gaps between board I will put the 2x1s. Saw a pole home clad like this and it was beautiful. Anyhow I milled for the rest of the afternoon until no light. I really enjoyed milling. Finally my dream of building my own house with timber from my own block using my own two hands is starting to happen. Very happy man indeed.:U
