A design request I've tried to interpret.
In Riveroak, which is not well known, so isn't thought much of. But, I've always like the wild look of it. Actually suspect its a hybrid of swamp oak and river oak, but its been hard for me to find out for shore. Bends quite well sometimes . interesting stuff. And quite stable. Shame it wrecks itself when drying.
Everythings steam bent, excepting side and middle stretchers and the seat of course.
Wedges in ebony. Flare them like bow ties in the seat.
Whats new, that I'm quite fond of, is the flow of the joints through the arms and arm stubs. A bit of joinery that I evolved. Who knows who else is doing that. Don't really care. Someone else has probably done this, as its a big world we live in. I just haven't seen it before so I'm going to enjoy the fact that I came up with that myself at least as a relief to not hearing others imply a copy of something () ...endless competition nonsense.
finish in white shellac. rubbed out with 2000grit w&D. Another interpretation of the gloss levels requested.
Roger was quite impressed (last pic). Said he'll buy 6 of them (:rolleyes:BS. jes that blokes full of it. Never trust a porshe driver ! )
just an opinion. Not an expert on roger. 2 cents worth.
