OK, so I'm always carping that identifying wood from pics is a very dodgy business, & just for fun, I'm putting up these two pics to see if anyone out there can id it. I will be pretty surprised if anyone does, but who knows, there are some clever folk out there in Cyberland... :U

And this is an end grain shot (not as clean as it ought to be (but you can see it well enough, I think): 2 End grain.jpg
I've got a couple more pics, that I will drip-feed you. One would give the game away, to a botanist, & at least one of those looks in here on occasion, so you're not getting either of these until I get a few suggestions.
