Mobile timber mill in Brisbane

mercredi 16 juillet 2014

Just wondering if anyone has used or knows of a mobile mill operating in the brisbane area?

Looking for a rough price to get a 1 year old iron bark trunk cut for garden edging. Originally was thinking just split down the middle but looking around a lot of mobile mills say max 150mm thickness, and thought it might be more cost effective to get the trunks slabbed up and then use the slabs as edging. Obviously get a lot more metres of timber if slabbed rather than just halved.

It's edging for a garden in bushland so doesn't need to be too pretty, and I figured ironbark at 150mm will still take plenty of years to rot.

Logs approx 4000mm with diameter of 500mm and 6000mm with diameter of 600mm

Any direction on where to get them milled much appreciated, as would be any feedback on whether this is a good idea or not as I'm a timber newbie :)
