INSTALLED VL150.

I have a VL100 that is quite old now and shouted me a New VL150 from Timberbits.DSCF0001.jpg This VFD I had on my shelf for a few years I found out that after a yr or more not to switch it on without reforming the Capacitors in the unit or else it could blow up messy inside and change of underware, The reform cost plus even then maybe new capacitiors (high labour cost) about break even so a new VFD latest model was fitted to a new LeRoy Somers 1100 watt three phase motor connected in Delta formation best advised. This a bare lathe fitted on my existing sit down work bench, raised the motor to allow the drive belt out the head stock keeping leg room under the bench.DSCF0004.jpgDSCF0005.jpg This barrel shape fan is from air con tubed down to the lathe to remove superfine dust it looked to me to be better lowered where it is wanted to assist removal of CA fumes also.

DSCF0007.jpg Note the increased size made by me of the tool rest for pens extra depth needed the increased bulk of the VL150 normal heavy duty dust extraction behind and under the tool rest the shaft size is 1 inch.DSCF0009.jpg the new VFD has the speed control Potentiometer fitted into the VFD also a small fan built in. The motor a LeRoy Somers 1100 watt three phase motor connected in Delta.

DSCF0012.JPG The covering over the drive belt painted blue. I use a draughtsman adjustable seat.

Kind regards Peter.:2tsup::2tsup:
