Gents, I have a geared head lathe & and metal cutting band saw that require oil. What grade of oil for the lathe, what kind and grade for the band saw.

What a blast
Normally I frequent the toy making or turning sections of the forums so most of my clocks are turned.
This is not a new design or even mine but I liked it and decided to use a few bits of wood from the scrap box, don't you just love those boxes and what you can make out of them.
I make things like this just for the fun of it and I really enjoy making things from wood and this is how I see this wonderful hobby

Pot Porri
Well another small turning. This Pot Porri is made from three pieces of wood Ash for the main bowl Beech and Sapele for the lid. It measures 4 1/2" tall and 5" across.

Dopey Parents
Just came back from a trip to Darwin , Kakadu, litchfield and Nitmaluk. This is a trip that should be compulsory for all Australians!!
We took a Safari trip in a four wheel drive Isuzu truck with a bus type set up on the chassis. Good capable vehicle and very safe for river crossing.
We arrived at the crossing over the South Alligator River into twin falls where several other vehicles had pulled up to survey the scene. One couple in a hired Subaru had no chance of crossing so another couple generously offered them a lift in their Prado. All fine and dandy.
These people were following us across the ford when we noticed that there was a child sitting on the roof!!!:oo:
One bad bump, the Prado tipping or some other mishap and this kid would have been crocodile food!!:doh:

Just finished this he's called the rock star I used walnut sapele beech indigbo and poplar this was a nice easy one to make thanks for looking
