Power ?? single phase to three phase

Hi , Im looking at a workshop set up where I can have single phase .

I have three phase machines though .

Im looking into getting three phase connected but I think its a long way away.

If that costs too much,

I could use single phase and have a diesel powered generator for the three phase machines, and switch power from one to the other.



Or



Is it possible to buy a single phase powered generator with three phase output ? What are they called ? is it a phase converter ?



I know about the VFD thing but don't think its practical with 15 or possibly more three phase machines.
