I have had a couple of 3m softback sanding sponges kicking around the shop for a while, but only recently did I realize that these things are magic. I'm talking about these:

Not necessarily that grit though. They are made in five grits from medium (P120-P180) through to microfine (P1200-1500).
They are available individually on ebay or through various vendors online, but, from what I can tell (and correct me if i'm wrong), the best bang for one's theoretical buck would be buying them directly from 3M Australia in boxes of 20.
So to get 20 of each grit is going to cost $220 plus shipping. I'm looking for someone who might be interested in splitting this order with me. I don't really need 20 of each, as they have a pretty long lifespan and they are a specific use tool. On that note, these are great for:
-Sanding funky pockets or corners
-Sanding natural edges
-Getting those last on-lathe sanding marks off of bowls and bringing them to a silky finish after they are off the lathe (they are GREAT at this)
Anyway, it would be about $110 for ten of each. I would prefer to do this with one person but if two people were interested in 5 of each we could make that happen too.
Hope to hear from someone.
